You can deposit checks at any checkout lane at participating Walmart locations nationwide. Checks must be preprinted, like a payroll or government check. Check cashing fees and limits apply. You can add up to $1,000 in cash or check to your card for a $3.74 reload fee.

Remember: These services are not available in all states or stores. Reloads can’t exceed card limits. The receipt is proof of reload.

How do I pay bills with a barcode at participating retailers?

1. Log in to the account provider’s app or website. Check to see if they accept Green Dot services. If they do, follow the steps to select a retailer where you’d like to pay your bill, then generate a barcode on your phone or print it out. Exclusions apply.
2. Ask a cashier at your selected retailer to scan the barcode and tender your cash towards that bill (plus fee, if applicable). We’ve also included instructions for the cashier on the barcode page (just in case).
3. After completing the transaction, the cashier will give you a receipt. Keep this receipt as proof of payment. You may also receive an email to confirm your money was attributed to your bill.

Why did my barcode not work?

• The barcode may have expired and is no longer valid. Most barcodes expire 1 hour from being generated, but check your account provider’s time limits You can log into your account to create a new barcode and start a new transaction at the retailer.
• If the barcode contains a specific payment amount, you must pay that amount (plus fee, if applicable). The transaction will fail if you do not pay that amount.
• Your biller may apply transaction limits to the service. If you have reached the limits, you will not be able to use the service until the limits reset.
• If the barcode still does not work, visit your biller’s website or app for additional support.

• Log in to your online account.
• Select “Green Dot @ the Register,” usually located as an option in the section where you add funds to your account.
• Select the retailer you’ll visit and we’ll make a custom barcode for you.
• Print or get the barcode on your smartphone. Bring your cash and the barcode to the register. A $4.95 service fee applies.
Helpful tip: The mobile barcode will expire 1 hour after it’s generated, so wait until you’re at the retail location to generate your barcode. A printed barcode will expire in 48 hours.

Why didn’t my barcode work at the store?

Always check the expiration date next to your barcode before using it. If it is expired, you’ll need to create a new one.

You can also only use one barcode at a time, so try to use your barcode first before you generate another one. If you still can’t use your barcode after trying the two options above, please contact your service provider for assistance with your account.

How can I protect myself from fraud?

Protecting yourself from fraud is simple with Green Dot @ the Register. Just remember:
• Only use the barcodes that you personally generated from your own account.
• Never use a barcode someone else gave you because that’s probably a scam.
• No one will ever contact you to ask for your withdrawal barcode or to generate a barcode.
• Do not give out your barcode to anyone.

How much money can I add to my account using Green Dot @ the Register?

You can usually add any amount from $20 to $500 per barcode. You may use up to three barcodes or add up to $1,500 total per day, whichever event comes first. Please keep in mind that your card or account provider may have its own daily limit on your account that is under $1,500. If you reach your card or account provider’s daily or monthly account limit, you will not be able to load money using Green Dot @ the Register. If there’s additional activity on your account between the time you generate the barcode and when you use it, the amount of cash you can add may be reduced.

How will my service provider’s limits affect how I can use Green Dot @ the Register?

Your service provider may limit you to a maximum of $1,500 per day that can be added to your account. Your provider may also have limits on how many times per month you can add money to your account. If you have reached either of these limits, you won’t be able to use Green Dot @ the Register until the next day or month, when your limits reset.

Credit Card Bill Pay is a convenient way to pay your credit card bill with cash at participating retailers nationwide. Just bring your cash, your $3.95 fee, and your Visa®, Mastercard®, American Express®, Discover®, or Department Store credit card to pay your bill at a participating retailer. For most cards, pay with cash by 6 PM EST for your transaction to post the next business day, excluding weekends and holidays. Florida, Illinois, Minnesota, New Jersey, and West Virginia are excluded from Credit Card Bill Pay transactions. Credit card must be active.

How do I pay a credit card bill at the register?

1. Check your card eligibility. Then find a retailer near you.
2. Bring your active card, cash payment of $20 - $500, and your $3.95 fee to the register. While some cards post the payment automatically, please allow 1-2 business days for the payment to process for most cards.
3. Keep your receipt the cashier will give you.
